There are not many 7 inch tablets in the market and its viability has always been questioned. The only noticeable slate which is 7 inch in size is Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 7.  Galaxy Tab 7 touched 1.2 million mark in sales recently.  Now HTC is all ready to release its Flyer slate soon in European market. Flyer is a 7 inch tablet running on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and is expected to get an upgrade to Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) soon. This is a bit downer for many as most of the latest tablets are shipped with Honeycomb.

One should not get fooled by the small size of HTC Flyer, this tablet will house some of the latest specifications as far as tablets are concerned. In fact it can easily beat few other tablets coming in 10 inch size if specifications are compared. Just have a look at the specifications of HTC Flyer,

• CPU Speed : 1.5 GHz
• Memory : Internal storage – 32 GB (microSD™ memory card (SD 2.0 compatible)),  RAM - 1 GB
• Camera : 5 megapixel color camera with auto focus, 1.3 megapixel front camera.

Rest of the specs are also comparable to any latest tablet in the market.  HTC Flyer is expected to hit European market on May 9. An unlocked  HTC Flyer will be priced at £599.99 ($981).  This is way too  much overpriced. Lets see if at this price, Flyer will be able to fly.
