The bubble burst to disappoint many people waiting for HTC Thunderbolt when HTC announced its specs. The most awaited was the Qualcomm's dual-core Snapdragon MSM8960 expected to run at lightening speed of 1.2GHz.
Well the news is that Qualcomm is not going to finish its work on MSM8960 anytime before the end of 2011,so there is no question of any mobile phone having it in 2011. First mobiles having these processors will roll out only in 2012.
Thunderbolt will be shipped with Qualcomm's MSM8655, 1GHz (aka snapdragon), Qualcomm MDM9600 chipset.Memory wise Thunderbolt is better than iPhone 4 and many other competing smartphones. Thunderbolt will have 768 MB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory with a support for microSD card, the package contains a 32 GB microSD preinstalled.Thunderbolt will support microSD card upto 128 GB, this is a huge edge over current smartphones like iPhone 4 (for those who are blissfully ignorant about iPhone, you can not expand its memory).
Before talking about rest of the specifications of HTC Thunderbolt , lets see few cool features of this upcoming smart phone which make it stand apart in the crowd of smartphones. It has inbuilt capability of working as a wifi hotspot, one can connect upto 8 devices with Thunderbolt. Also this will be first smart phone with integrated video Skype mobile.
One downer can be its Android 2.2 OS. At this time of the year, it is expected to be running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

and here is the boot sequence animation of HTC thunderbolt, don't fail to notice the boot time (my observation is that it is still slow, what happened to HTC's promise that its next release will have a boot time of less than 15 seconds?).
